The Department provides various services in fields/disciplines which are given as under:
- Geological exploration of Minerals, Rocks and Gemstones.
- Exploration of Groundwater and planning of development of production wells and Groundwater inventory of J&K UT.
- Exploration and developments of production wells for available Groundwater resources in J&K UT.
- Engineering Geology assignments/projects feasibility Reports.
- Exploratory Mining to work out Mining feasibility of the deposit.
- Exploratory drilling by way of diamond drilling, Rotary/Reverse Rotary drilling besides, percussion methods of drilling.
- Grant of Mining Leases for Major as well as Minor Minerals explored by the Department.
- Grant of Quarry License (QL)/Short Term Permit (STP) of Minor Minerals Blocks.
- Implementation of Act and Rules Governing Mineral Concession and Amended from time to time.
- Issuance of Mineral Dealer License for Trading of Minor Minerals by different individuals.
- Implementation of MM (D&R) Act and Rules made there under for Development and Regulation of Mines and Minerals in the J&K UT.
